It is 1979, and New York’s hottest new attraction is The Barracuda, a glamorous floating casino and discotheque packed with colorful characters, questionable decisions, and some of the biggest songs of the decade. Unfortunately, disaster expert Ted Scheider has discovered that the casino has been built directly over a dangerous fault line. What follows is an increasingly ridiculous parade of earthquakes, tidal waves, fires, collapsing structures, and other catastrophes as the passengers and crew try to survive the night. Disaster! is an over the top musical comedy inspired by the disaster movies of the 1970s and powered by recognizable songs including “Hot Stuff,” “I Am Woman,” “Knock on Wood,” “I Will Survive,” and more. The comedy works best when the characters take their increasingly absurd circumstances completely seriously. The show’s musical score confirms its extensive use of recognizable 1970s songs throughout both acts.

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is a 1955 American three-act play by Tennessee Williams. The play, an adaptation of his 1952 short story “Three Players of a Summer Game”, was written between 1953 and 1955. One of Williams’s more famous works and his personal favorite, it won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1955. Set in the “plantation home in the Mississippi Delta” of Big Daddy Pollitt, a wealthy cotton tycoon, the play examines the relationships among members of Big Daddy’s family, primarily between his son Brick and Maggie “the Cat”, Brick’s wife.

MUSICAL

Mame is a musical with a book by Jerome Lawrence and Robert Edwin Lee and music and lyrics by Jerry Herman. Originally titled My Best Girl, it is based on the 1955 novel Auntie Mame by Patrick Dennis and the 1956 Broadway play of the same name by Lawrence and Lee. A period piece set in New York City and spanning the Great Depression and World War II, it focuses on eccentric bohemian Mame Dennis, whose famous motto is “Life is a banquet and most poor sons of bitches are starving to death.”[1] Her fabulous life with her wealthy friends is interrupted when the young son of her late brother arrives to live with her. They cope with the Depression in a series of adventures.
